We have said it many times, and we will say it again: there has never been a better time to protect your privacy! Great options exist today that work hard to make privacy simple and easy, just like using any other everyday app.
Some of the bigger privacy-focused projects have turned into official companies with paid teams. Others do incredible work relying only on volunteers and donations from people like you and me. The tools from this second group might look free to use, but they still have real costs: servers, development time, security updates and audits, and more. These projects are run by true believers who fight every day to give us real privacy in a world that often tries to take it away.
They cannot keep going without help. We all benefit from their hard work, so let's step up and support them too. A small donation from each of us can make a big difference and keep these vital tools alive and improving.
Everything we've listed in our Privacy Toolbox falls into one of two categories: subscriptions that we happily pay for ourselves, or projects we donate to because we deeply believe in their mission. To make things even clearer, we've now added labels to the list showing whether each item is a one-time purchase, a recurring subscription, or a donation-supported project (often open-source and volunteer-driven).
